Stockholm Environmental Society
SEI is an independent, international research institute specializing in sustainable development and environment issues. It works at local, national, regional and global policy levels. The SEI research programmes aim to clarify the requirements, strategies and policies for a transition to sustainability.
United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority
Databank contains information on exhaust emissions of only those aircraft engines that have entered production. The information was provided by engine manufacturers, who are solely responsible for its accuracy. It was collected in the course of the work carried out by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP) but has not been independently verified unless indicated. The UK CAA is hosting this databank on behalf of ICAO and is not responsible for the contents.
Carbon Monitoring for Action (CARMA)
(Non aviation site but provides helpful general data).
Carbon Monitoring for Action (CARMA) contains information on the carbon emissions of over 50,000 power plants and 4,000 power companies worldwide. Power generation accounts for 40% of all carbon emissions in the United States and about one-quarter of global emissions. CARMA is the first global inventory of a major, emissions-producing sector of the economy.
European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC)
It is widely accepted in Europe that the environmental impacts of the aviation sector must be mitigated if it is to continue to grow and be successful. If the effects of noise and emissions are not adequately addressed, there is the risk that environmental issues could become the main constraint on future growth. ECAC has, therefore, established environment as one of its key priorities and continues to work on relevant issues through its group of experts on the abatement of nuisances caused by air transport (ANCAT), which comprises representatives from Member States, aircraft operators, manufacturers, airports, EUROCONTROL and non-governmental organisations. ANCAT provides advice and recommendations to Directors General on environmental matters and also seeks to co-ordinate the development of European positions on relevant issues in preparation for discussions in the ICAO Committee on Aviation and Environmental Protection (CAEP).
Aviation and Marine “Bunker Fuels”
In accordance with the IPCC Guidelines for the preparation of greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories and the UNFCCC reporting guidelines on annual inventories, emissions from international aviation and maritime transport (also known as international bunker fuel emissions) should be calculated as part of the national GHG inventories of Parties, but should be excluded from national totals and reported separately. These emissions are not subject to the limitation and reduction commitments of Annex I Parties under the Convention and the Kyoto Protocol.
The Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA), at its twenty-second session, considered document FCCC/SBSTA/2005/INF.2. ICAO provided additional information contained in document FCCC/SBSTA/2005/MISC.4 and made presentations (ICAO introductory presentation, AERO Modelling System and System for assessing Aviations Global Emission (SAGE)) that clarified the information in this document. Since SBSTA 22, substantive conclusions on this agenda sub-item could not be agreed upon.
The SBSTA, at its twenty-seventh session (Bali, December 2007), did not complete its consideration of issues under this agenda sub-item and agreed to continue its consideration of these issues at its twenty-eighth session (Bonn, June 2008).

The site provides detail on the implementation of the EU ETS program.
Preparing for Emissions Trading in Europe
In preparation for aviation’s inclusion in the EU ETS, the European Commission (EC) has developed guidelines for the monitoring and reporting of aviation activity data (tonne-kilometres and CO2 emissions).
