IBAC and three helicopter associations (HAI, BHA and EHA) joined forces to complete a thorough review and amendment of the IS-BAO Safety Standard to incorporate changes to better recognize helicopter operations. The amended standard will be available in January’s IS-BAO amendment. For further information download the Press Release.

The July 2010 IS-BAO Newsletter announces many new changes upcoming to the standard management process.

An Agreement has been signed by IBAC and members of the Helicopter Industry Associations from the US (HAI), Europe (EHA) and Great Britain (BHA) to develop a Helicopter Edition of the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO). A Work Group is to be named to develop the proposed new IS-BAO (HE) and work is expected to start shortly. See press release.

At the invitation of the President of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) IBAC completed a comprehensive briefing of the challenges and issues faced by the business aviation community. Download the presentation.

The first of a series of Business Aviation Safety Seminars Asia (BASS-Asia) will take place in Singapore on 10-11 November (postponed from earlier announced date of 13-14 April). On 10 November a high level session will explore the business aviation safety record and priorities for addressing safety . Also included will be sessions on SMS and discussion of new regulatory oversight provisions. The Seminar will also feature presentations on safety tools; on the second day, workshops will be presented including the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO).
